Set out on an exciting seven-day journey to the top of Kilimanjaro via the Lemosho Route. Explore a variety of environments, such as glaciers, vast moorlands, and lush rainforests. This trip offers a fruitful climb to the Roof of Africa under the guidance of professionals.

Day 1: Londorossi Gate to Mti Mkubwa
Elevation: 2389m – 2785m
Distance: 5km
Hours:3-4 hours
Habitat: Rain forest.

To register and pay park fees, you must drive three hours from Moshi to the Londorossi Park Gate on Kilimanjaro's western flank. From there, you can continue on to the Lemosho Glades trailhead and begin your hike through the rain forest. There are spots where the flora is so unaltered that it grows directly across the small path. Compared to the other more well-travelled paths through the rainforest, the vegetation and fauna are more abundant here. The hike today will follow Chamber's Route, a small stretch of abandoned road. You will arrive at your camp in the rainforest at Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree) in roughly three to four hours.

Day 2: Mti Mkubwa to Shira 1 Camp

Elevation: 2780m - 3500m
Distance:
8km
Hours: 7
– 8 hours
Habitat: Moorland.

Carry a lunchbox and begin the ascent past the remaining jungle toward the huge moorland zone after breakfast. The stunning valley immediately outside the Shira Crater, at about 3,050m (10,000ft), is the ideal place to pause for lunch. Following lunch, you enter the Shira Caldera, a seldom-visited high-altitude desert region. Lava from Kibo Peak fills Shira, the third volcanic cone on Kilimanjaro. Volcanic activity and weather have ravaged the crater rim. You get to see Kibo, the striking peak of Mount Kilimanjaro, up close for the first time today.

Day 3: Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp
Elevation: 2
10m
Distance:
8km/ miles
Hours:
6-8 hours
Habitat:
Rainforest.
After breakfast, continue hiking east across the Shira Plateau past the Shira Cathedral towards Shira 2 Camp. You only gain 210m (700ft) in elevation, which allows you to acclimate slowly to the altitude. The views of the plateau are nothing less than spectacular!

Day 4: Shira 2 Camp to Barranco Hut
Elevation:3895m – 3986m
Distance:10km
Hours: 5-6 hours
Habitat: Semi-desert

The 'easy days' are coming to an end today. It is an excellent six-hour hike. After passing the Lava Tower, which circles Kibo's southern face, you gradually descend to Barranco, a breathtaking campsite at the base of Kibo Peak, which towers over you. Our trek would have taken you just over 4,300m (14,000ft) today, yet your camp is only 140m (465ft) higher than it was last night. One of the best days for acclimatization is today.

Day 5: Barranco Hut to Karanga Valley to Barafu Camp

Barranco hut to Karanga

Elevation: 3986m – 4034m
Distance: 5km
Hours: 4-5 hours
Habitat: Alpine Desert

Karanga valley to Barafu camp

Elevation:4034m – 4662m
Distance: 5km
Hours:4-5 hours
Habitat: Alpine Desert
.

Your first challenge after breakfast is to scale the 600-foot (183-meter) Barranco Wall. With breathtaking views of the crags and crevasses of the craggy peaks to your left, the climb becomes easier and more breathtaking until you cross the wall. You then make your way down to the Karanga Valley. Due to scheduling constraints, some people choose not to camp here for the night.

Day 6: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp

Elevation:4662m – 5895m (going up) 3090m (going down)
Distance: 5km going up – 11km going down
Hours:5\7 hours (going up) – 5\6 hours (going down)
Habitat: Arctic.

Around midnight, we begin going on the steepest and most difficult portion of the mountain, so wear warm clothing. We will arrive at Stella Point by daybreak (about six hours) because the moon will offer adequate illumination. Rugged Mawenzi is an exciting sight from the rim of the crater before dawn, with the ice walls of the crater looming ahead and the Kibo saddle remaining in the blackness below. Proceed to Uhuru Peak if you feel up to it. At 5,900 meters (19,340 feet), this is the highest point in Africa and the highest isolated summit in the world. For trekkers, this is the hardest day of the year. You will have climbed 2,200 meters (7,200 feet) and fallen 1,100 meters (3,600 feet). While the downhill is much less taxing, it is still a good idea to take a short break sometimes as you continue down to Mweka Camp.

Day 7: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate to Moshi
Elevation: 3106m – 1633m
Distance: 8km
Hours:3-4 hours
Habitat: Rain forest.

In the morning, we descend to Mweka Gate. After reaching Mweka Gate, you will receive your summit certificates and say farewell to your dedicated guides and porters. After that, you will have a farewell lunch and then get a ride back to the hotel.
