The migration passes roughly between May and July, pausing to gather momentum before crossing the crocodile-rich waters of the Grumeti River.

Day 1

Arrive in Tanzania.

You will be picked up from the airport by our representative and taken to your accommodation in Arusha, where you will spend the night, relax, and prepare in anticipation of the adventures to come.

Day 2

Arusha – Tarangire National Park

In the morning, you will be picked up from the lodge in Arusha by our safari driver guide. Start drives to Tarangire National Park on a good tarmac road across gently rolling Maasai plains with scattered acacia trees. On the way, you will see many Masai in their colorful dresses walking on the roadside, riding bicycles, herding cattle, and driving donkey carts.

The park is well known for its large elephant herds, but it is also host to a multitude of other creatures. Experience the seasonal swamps, savanna and life-giving Tarangire River, endeavoring to encounter a multitude of creatures, from zebra to wildebeest, buffalo, elephant, and giraffe, to name a few. If you are lucky, it is possible to see lions stalking prey or leopards watching, relaxing in the trees above. After an extensive game drive experiencing the varied sights and sounds of the wilderness, you will drive to accommodation for dinner overnight.

Day 3

Tarangire National Park – Central Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you will continue towards the fertile highlands where wheat and corn are grown by the Iraqw people. Along the way we’ll pass through the mist-shrouded rainforests of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area where you might be lucky enough to see baboons, or even leopards and elephants in the dense undergrowth. Passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you will be able to see the breath-taking Ngorongoro Crater before traveling onwards to the Serengeti National Park, which you will reach by midday.

The Serengeti National Park is the largest park in Tanzania with diverse landscapes and habitats, such as grassy plains, swamps, lakes, savannah and mountains. After an extensive game drive, you will drive to the accommodation where you will enjoy dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4

Serengeti Central – Western Serengeti (Western Corridor)

After breakfast, start driving straight towards the western corridor, which takes approximately 1.5 hours. Around the end of April , May and June, a vast army of wildebeests, along with their partners: zebras, elands, and gazelles, mill around the Western Corridor of the Serengeti, south of the Grumeti River.

There will be leopards, hyenas, and giant Nile crocodiles ahead, and hundreds will die as some risk the river crossing while others avoid it.But the beauty of the landscape, stretching without end beneath an infinite sky on a Serengeti West Safari, changes something within the watcher, who becomes more aware of the place of humankind within the drama of the animal world.

Drive directly to your accommodation for dinner and overnight in the late afternoon.

Day 5

Western Serengeti – Serengeti Central

On this day, you will spend the entire day on game drives in the Western Serengeti, until late afternoon, you will drive to the Central Serengeti, where you will spend the night. The Serengeti is the habitat of an abundance of wildlife such as impala, buffalo, crocodile, and hippopotamus.

It is more well-known for its great migrating herds of zebra, antelope, and wildebeest. The animals’ trek is determined by the rainfall and varies from year to year. In November and December, the animals move from the northern region, dominated by woodlands and hills, to the grassy plains of the south.

During the longer rainy season from April to June, they return to the north. Apart from the migrating herds, we may have the opportunity to see the resident predators, such as leopards, cheetahs, and lions, fulfilling their roles in the circle of life.

After an extensive game drive, you will head to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.
